Geocontrol

Geocontrol is a fully independent engineering company specialized in the Design of Underground Works (tunnels, shafts and caverns). Geocontrol offers advanced and innovative technical solutions for Underground Works using its own methodology [Active Structural Design] which applies to any phase of the life cycle of an underground infrastructure: design, monitoring of the construction process, operation and maintenance.

Since 1982, Geocontrol has participated in numerous projects within different sectors: Transport (subway, railways, roads), Energy (hydropower plants), Water (water supply for the industry, agriculture and population) and Mining (open pit mining and underground mines), gaining a wide experience in the design and supervision of Underground Civil Works constructed by means of NATM, TBM, EPB and Cut&Cover, among others. The headquarters are located in Madrid (Spain) and there are permanent offices in Santiago de Chile (Chile) and Lima (Peru).

The company has been active in the Canadian market since early 2020 and has participated in some of the most iconic recent projects in the province of Québec, like the REM (Réseau Express Metropolitain), the East REM (REM de l’Est, for CDPQ Infra), and most recently, the design of the sequential excavation method at the International Montreal Airport (YUL), in partnership with GHD, for a JV Aecon+EBC, two major local contractors.

The company is committed to the Canadian market and therefore is proud to announce the opening of its Canadian branch, Geocontrol Tunneling Services Inc. We are looking forward to supporting with our expertise the development of new underground infrastructure in Canada in the upcoming years.
