Yesterday, May 26th, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Canada had the pleasure of bringing together in Toronto the Spanish companies participating in the Desafía Program, powered by Centech Mtl, in an event that seamlessly blended knowledge-sharing, first-hand experience, and networking in a wonderful setting.
The event kicked off with a presentation by the team at Houser, Henry & Syron LLP, who walked attendees through the key aspects to consider when doing business in Canada. One of the main takeaways was clear: before establishing a company in the country, it is essential to conduct a thorough analysis of the local market, understand its regulatory landscape, and adapt your value proposition to the Canadian context.
Following that, several Chamber members shared their own personal experiences of arriving and setting up in Canada, offering a candid and practical perspective on the challenges and opportunities that come with the process. Their insights and recommendations proved invaluable for the participating startups, who are navigating precisely that stage of exploration and international expansion.
The gathering also served as a matchmaking session, giving these innovative Spanish companies the opportunity to connect directly with members of our network and explore potential synergies and business opportunities. El encuentro arrancó con una presentación del equipo de Houser, Henry & Syron LLP, quienes guiaron a los asistentes a través de los aspectos clave a tener en cuenta para hacer negocios en Canadá. Una de las principales conclusiones fue clara: antes de establecer una empresa en el país, es fundamental realizar un análisis exhaustivo del mercado local, comprender su marco regulatorio y adaptar la propuesta de valor al contexto canadiense.
